We are getting noticed in the Big Apple! First off is WPIX, the CW flagship, doing an incredible write up on our project over here calling attention to the fact that we are girls whom are supporting good representations of women in media. After our airing in Los Angeles and our press in Variety, we have gotten some pretty big notices. Smallville publicists Susan Kessar thanked us for being so awesome, Smallville publicist Suzanne Gomez talked up our Variety coup, and perhaps the coolest of them all, the CW Network twitter linked to this very site. Yet another interview with one of our producers, this time at the blog Hero Complex which is part of the LA Times! The article is not only very fun and informative but also calls out Smallville for missing the boat on the cult-following that Chloe Sullivan / Allison Mack has.
Variety chief TV editor, Brian Lowry, gave his wistful take on "Legendary." The old school print journalist complimented fans on their use of television marketing calling it, "...as amazing as a small-town girl from Kansas becoming pals with a boy from Krypton." Heroine TV is promoting Legendary’s May 14, 2010 premiere date. The article chronicled growth of Chloe Sullivan from “meteor freak” obsessed cub reporter to the young woman and hero she is now. It noted, “Chloe is incredibly smart, brave, selfless, and sassy, and [that] ultimately Mack has demonstrated her crucial contribution to the show.” You can read more here or follow the twitter.
Maria Gonzalez of BuddyTV wrote up Legendary and even promoted our newly forming organization, Legendary Women, Inc. She noted that it was "no surprise" that we chose Chloe Sullivan to honor as a "positive representation in the media." Danielle Turchiano, our friend who chronicled us first, has done a follow-up. She’s revealed in her article that we will be airing two sixty second spots during the 6-7pm hour on May 14, 2010 on the CW Los Angeles Affiliate, KTLA. Turchiano also was kind enough to explain what a prime spot airing this close to the season finale is!
Nice Girls TV wrote an article about us on Wednesday, covering the basics of our campaign. The article about us (read it here) that Legendary is about women supporting other professional women. Legendary has hit New York City! Paradigm Shift has done an excellent write up on our project. They are the first to get to announce our intentions to hit the New York market as well as our Los Angeles goal, as well as get a chance to talk about our goals as a group to "honor a character and an actress who remain positive role models of growth, creativity and strength." Comic fansite Bam! Kapow! has also jumped on the Legendary train. In addition to reposting our press release and our teaser vid, they did a very cool summary noting the journey of Chloe Sullivan from the Torch-obsessed friend of Clark, to being his Daily Planet working BFF, through her relationship with Jimmy into her current JLA exile.
Revolution SF did a fun little write up of our project. Noting that it was time that someone did "something for Chloe" they did a nice summation of both the Legendary commercial project as well as noting the prior charity work done for the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation by Operation: Truth & Justice.
This has truly shocked and delighted our inner geeks - Legendary has an amazing write up on Airlock Alpha. They bring up her journalistic journey from the Torch to the Planet, as well as her rise up to hero status, not to mention how unique both the character and our commercial project is. They also bring up this years Smallville death spec so beware of spoilers!
Legendary truly is making the rounds! We have now hit DVD Verdict, a nice site run out of Chicago IL which has put up our press release - even though we are not airing there. Perhaps this is a sneaky way to get other people to join up and make it happen? We do not know but we do appreciate the attention!
Legendary has hit the international scene! Mentioned along with spoilers for the season nine finale (so watch your step), Legendary got a nice write up complete with a huge photograph on Unification. For those of you who have not been to Unification, it seems to be a very large science fiction oriented website in France. Very cool!
Legendary has hit the big leagues as we got a full write up on Comicvine, the largest comic book resource online, last week. We are thrilled to see so much positive reaction in the comments over there, as well as such a nice write up from Tom Pinchuk, who goes out of his way to point out how unique and never-been-done-before our project is. GeekTwin whom gave us a nice press release write up yesterday, calling Legendary a "bold new initiative" in fan campaigns has released part two of their coverage on us. They got to do a sit down interview with one of our producers and ask all about the process of creating this tribute, shipping, the series, and Allison Mack.
