One of the greatest rewards for us has been interacting more with other Smallville fans throughout the production of the Legendary ad. We have been amazed at the enthusiasm, creativity, talent and generosity of our fellow fans. We want to continue that positive experience by opening up more avenues of communication between us, other fans and the media. On this page, you will find our contact information, our press releases and links to any coverage of the Legendary ad in the media.

Press Release

Fans honor CW leading lady & Smallville star, Allison Mack, with tribute commercial to air Thursday, May 20, 2010 on KTLA and on WPIX 11.

Fans honor CW leading lady & Smallville star, Allison Mack, with tribute commercial to air Thursday, May 20, 2010 on KTLA and on WPIX 11. Smallville fans have funded a professionally-filmed tribute commercial for CW leading lady Allison Mack and her TV character, Chloe Sullivan, to be re-broadcast once during the 6-7:00 p.m. news hour on Thursday, May 20, 2010, on KTLA. It will also air that night from the 6:00-6:30 p.m. slot on the CW’s “flagship station” WPIX in New York City. Incidentally, this is the same day of Upfronts for the CW network.

Starring on Smallville since 2001, Ms. Mack has gained a large and devoted fan base as one of the CW's most beloved stars. For the completion of her 9th year on the series, Smallville fans decided to celebrate Allison Mack and Chloe Sullivan, with a commercial project entitled Legendary. Scripted and funded entirely by fans, this is a first of its kind tribute ad, one that honors a specific actress and character on an in production series. Legendary was filmed in Los Angeles in late February with the director, Jon Michael Kondrath, at the helm. Together, cast and crew created a tribute commercial focusing on who Chloe Sullivan is and what she means to Smallville fans.

The ad highlights milestones in Chloe Sullivan's journey on Smallville from her introduction as a high school student to being hired at the Daily Planet as well as becoming Clark Kent's confidante.

The website, Legendary (http://www.legendarychloe.com), has been set up for the project. Response so far to the ad has been favorable with sources such as TV Guide Magazine Online, Zap2It, the L.A. Times blog, Hero Complex, all covering the phenomenon. Brian Lowry of Variety has called Legendary “as amazing as a small-town girl from Kansas becoming pals with a boy from Krypton."

Ms. Mack has been the center of a flurry of fan activity recently. Earlier this year, Smallville fans participated in Operation: Truth & Justice, another initiative to honor Ms. Mack. Fans donated $3000 to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation in her name and sent the CW star baskets of fan created gifts in appreciation of her performance.

Legendary is the first project of the developing non-profit Legendary Women, Inc. This group, mainly composed of young, professional women, seeks to promote the positive representation of females in the media. Legendary Women, Inc. feels that Chloe Sullivan’s heroic and personal journey during Smallville represents what young, driven women can achieve through sheer tenacity and intelligence.
